Biography of the artist: Vicki Reece

Over the years, Reece chose to study with the living artists whose work she most admired. This journey led her to a great love of Russian art. She has studied with Russian artists, as well as with Russian-trained artists. It was a great thrill for Reece to be able to study at the Repin Institute in St. Petersburg, Russia, as Russian art is so infused with great color sense. Reece has worked to incorporate beautiful color and light into her own paintings as well. Two of her greatest mentors and friends have been Ovanes Berberian and Harley Brown. Their help and encouragement over the years has been a great help.

From Reece: "Improving one's artwork is a lifetime journey. People occasionally will ask me if I am still painting. I smile and say 'yes.' But I think to myself, 'They might just as well ask me if I am still breathing.'
